The Brief - Remove the existing lawn and planting - there was a request to retain specific plants around the perimeter.
- Address the slope across the garden.
- Provide a combined storage space and greenhouse environment.
- The final design had to provide the space for a reasonable amount of planting but which was easily accessible.
Our Concept - Build a garden which can be adapted if required; for example the gravel was used as the main surface but laid on a membrane over soil so it can be removed and lawn laid if required to soften the effect.
- Create a garden with levels, the rear planters to be raised enabling access over the lower beds.
- Install a central water feature.
- Raise the rear garden, install a retaining wall and steps to a shed with a potting shelf, the shed was made to fit into the corner to make best used of the available space.
- The top level also has a feature shape to break up the hard surface but provides access to the surrounding planting.
